James S. Carr, A.I.A., NCARB has extensive experience as an architect in the multi-family sector. He has designed and documented over 184,000 living units in his career. A member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Association of Home Builders and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Mr. Carr is licensed to practice architecture in eighteen states and one Canadian province. Since becoming accredited in 1976, Mr. Carr has worked with many major developers throughout the country including Marriott, Lincoln Property, Trammell Crow and D.R. Horton. From 1982 to 1992 Mr. Carr was a senior partner with a national architectural firm based in Philadelphia, specializing in planning, designing and documenting large-scale residential and mixed-use developments.

Since starting his own practice in 1992, Mr. Carr has continued to undertake commissions for long term clients in addition to designing and documenting rental housing and mixed-use projects in which he has a development and/or ownership interest. Mr. Carr’s affiliation with Village Partners, a development entity in which he is co-owner, offers builders and investors the possibility of a turn-key design and development solution. Additionally, this relationship ensures that his designs reflect the real-time feedback from the building and management side of the multi-family industry. Mr. Carr’s specialized skills and experience make the projects he designs, both for his own account and for his clients, highly competitive and successful in diverse markets.

Mr. Carr was an independent director of Alliance Bank (ALLB) from 1996 to 2010 where he chaired the Forward Planning Committee. Mr. Carr received his Bachelors of Arts in Architecture and Masters of Arts in City Planning from Drexel University.
